The Role:

We are currently seeking to recruit qualified BSL/English Interpreters to join our interpreting team on a part time or full time basis as a staff member or independent contractor.

Whilst positions are available throughout the company, we are particularly looking for those who live or work in Scotland, who could join our Contact Scotland BSL team, as well as work for us in the community.

We welcome applications from committed and motivated BSL/English Interpreters with experience of interpreting in a variety of domains and settings and with a wide range of Deaf people. You will be provided with opportunities for training, professional support, and career development, including identification of any individual skills and expertise that could contribute to the team and the company.

Person specification:

You are expected to have a sound knowledge of issues relating to the Deaf community and a clear understanding of the role of a BSL/English Interpreter. You must also have a willingness to continue professional development and an excellent command of written and spoken English.

The post holder may undertake video interpreting and/or community interpreting assignments and join an established, committed, and dynamic staff team.

We have flexible contracts available from a few shifts a month right up to full time, as well as ad hoc community bookings. There are opportunities for overtime, and a range of work you can undertake on our varied services.
