Frequently asked questions
Who can schedule online meetings in SignVideo?
Only SignVideo subscribers can schedule online meetings. You can apply your Access to Work, Direct Payment, or self-funded monthly minutes towards interpreters for your Zoom, Microsoft, or other online meetings.
Can I schedule an interpreter for a last-minute booking?
Yes, most of the time. Subscribers can now book interpreters for same-day meetings. But keep in mind that interpreter availability may change. We will do our best to handle last-minute bookings and make sure an interpreter is ready for your meeting.
Can I book during evenings or weekends?
Pre-booked meetings can be scheduled with a booking agent during office hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Booking agents are not available during bank holidays. For requests outside these hours, you can submit them through the web form, and they will be addressed the next business day.
We schedule interpreters during office hours. We can also help outside of office hours if you ask, but availability may vary.
Do I have to pay extra for this service?
No, there is no additional fee for this service. The bookings are part of the monthly minutes package that SignVideo subscribers pay with Access to Work, Direct Payment or personal funding.
What if I cannot wait for the next available booking agent?
If you cannot wait for your call to be answered, you can fill in the web form.
Will I always be connected with a Deaf Booking Agent when I use the Schedule Online Meeting button?
In the rare cases, a deaf booking agent is not available, the call will go to a hearing agent with an interpreter. If both are busy, the interpreter will help finish the booking.
What information do I need to provide for the booking?
You can give meeting details in BSL to the booking agent or fill them out in the web form. These details include the meeting platform (like Zoom or Microsoft Teams), the meeting date and time, and any additional requirements for the interpreter. You can use the Shared Text feature to share the meeting link with the BSL booking agent.
How many interpreters can I schedule at once?
You can ask for as many interpreters as you need. Minutes will be used up for each interpreter. For meetings longer than 30 minutes or very large meetings, you might need more than one interpreter.
