Who can use SignVideo?
Any organisation or deaf BSL user who wants to have instant access to a qualified BSL interpreter.
Are there any limits to the service?
SignVideo is open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except bank holidays). It is possible to use SignVideo outside of these hours if you let us know in advance. For more information, please contact us.
How much does it cost?
SignVideo contracts are similar to mobile phone contracts. We offer a range of subscription plans that are designed to fit your needs. Please check our Services section or contact us to determine your need and anticipated level of usage; we will then be able to find you the contract best suited to you. On average, we offer up to 75% saving, in comparison to current costs for a face-to-face interpreter.
Is all information exchanged through SignVideo service confidental?
Yes, it is our policy to ensure that all relay and interpreted calls handled at the SignVideo Contact Centre are kept strictly confidential. SignVideo interpreters are fully trained and members of MRSLI. They are bound by a professional code of ethics.
Are your interpreters all qualified?
We only use the best interpreters. There are currently less than 800 full Members of the Register of Sign Language Interpreters (MRSLI) and we ensure that all of our interpreters are fully registered and experienced interpreters. All our interpreters meet and exceed the minimum standards as laid by the Guidelines for Video Interpreting. Our interpreters are also highly experienced in a number of fields.
Is SignVideo service only available in BSL?
SignVideo also provides a sign language interpreting service in a number of other Sign Languages, as well as International Sign. For more information on these services, please contact us.
Who pays for SignVideo?
Service providers such as local councils and hospital trusts. Companies and organisations that want to make their services more accessible to deaf people. If you are deaf and in employment, or running your own business, it is possible that your costs may be covered by Access to Work
